Keith Hartley: The Gotze family were in hiding, the fat c**t had vanished with all his money, and there I was, in full public view, being blamed for the whole thing. Narrator: With a documentary came the public outcry and the media's need for a scapegoat. (As Cranky lowers Thomas' body back on track, the front chains snap and gastric acid spills out of the boiler, causing him to scream.) Many would suffer trauma in their own way, both human and Bio-Fused. Narrator: But it wouldn't just be young people suffering. Jimmy Savile: (interrupts) -Of the train. Finally, in a last ditch attempt, the railway was promoted with an ill-judged celebrity endorsement.įemale singer: This is the age of the traaaaaain! This is the aaaaaaaage. Narrator: Numerous attempts were made to salvage the tourist trade on Sodor. People stopped coming to Sodor for Bio-Fusion operations, and so there were massive lay-offs on the railway itself. Keith Hartley: After the Thomas incident became public, the tourist trade began to dry up.

Soon, many of these people would be allowed limited access to the outside world, even beginning to form social connections to people, and in some cases, form friendships. This young man began making his own model railway stories as a form of treatment. Many viewers would be offered similar treatments, often being asked to illustrate what scared them and confronting it as a successful therapy. Keith Hartley: (archive footage) Young Abby Collins from the town was working there, when Professor Hans took a liking to her. Narrator: (archive) -quickly grew to become a large complex, comprising its own links to the growing Sodor rail system. Another video shows Lionel Thomas Productions 2016 lip syncing the dialogue of Shed 17.) (A video of MrMPS reacting to Shed 17 shows him screaming and waving his arms about before falling off his chair. The reaction, or rather overreaction began straight away. People had just become desensitized to what had happened to Thomas and his friends. Keith Hartley: I don't think the documentary showed anything we didn't already know. Narrator: On the 6th of October 2015, the world was reintroduced to the horrors and suffering that began on a small island off the Northwest coast of England. Thomas' body is shown being lifted out of the shed by Cranky.) John: Get away from that engine! Back off now! Back off now! Turn off the f**king camera! (The soldiers continue shooting the clone until they stop, realizing that he is dead.) John: Get back! Get back! Get out of here now! He gets shot as soldiers and John can be seen.)

(Camera lingers on Thomas' body for a few seconds before suddenly swinging over, revealing Thomas' Clone who broke free out of the tank, screeching loudly. We didn't stifle them, we didn't lock them away, we didn't lie to them. By the time they realised there was a problem, it was too late. They weren't silenced, they weren't subdued, they just didn't have anything to object to. The people that didn't leave work at night, they worked the railways for the love of railways. We let down those closest to us, without ever realising we’d done so. When you lose even one of those, you take something away from those around you. (The video starts with a loud distorted scream before cutting to Shed 17 in the aftermath of Thomas' discovery.)
